The Wisconsin Tobacco Quit Line is offering a new texting program to help young adults ages 18-24 break their addictions to smoking, vaping, or chewing tobacco.
Text2Quit offers up to 300 text messages tailored to an individual’s quitting plan. Coaching call reminders prompt participants to easily connect with a Quit Coach. The texts also remind people to take their medication, offer tips and access to video games to help manage urges. Participants can even track their cost savings and other measures.
The Quit Line still offers its regular services to anyone 13 or older with a Wisconsin area code 24/7. People can call the Quit Line to talk to a Quit Coach as often as they like, or chat online with Quit Coaches and peers. Adults who call can also get two weeks of free medication mailed to their door.
