Wisconsin residents aged 18 and older who want to quit tobacco use can get free medications shipped to them from the Quit Line. This includes a choice between the nicotine patch, lozenge or gum.
Nicotine-replacement therapies help people manage urges and overcome addiction.
Nicotine patches are designed to provide a steady stream of nicotine through your skin over a designated time. They’re usually used for eight to 12 weeks. Nicotine lozenges or nicotine gum are recommended for smokers who want something to turn to when experiencing urges to smoke.
The Quit Line will help you determine if any of these medications may be right for you. A coach will mail the medication to you at no cost.
