Quit Line helps Alexa quit for herself, her baby

When Alexa discovered she was pregnant, she knew it was time to quit smoking. She had seen the pamphlets and TV ads for the Wisconsin Tobacco Quit Line, and decided to try.

Quit coaches helped her create a plan that worked for her and sent her a two-week supply of nicotine patches.

“They really helped me by providing the products,” Alexa said. “It’s just something I decided I wanted to do. The support they gave me helped – just calling and checking in on me.”

In addition to patches, she tried vaping as well but didn’t  like it. Eventually, the Quit Line helped her quit all nicotine for good. After smoking since she was 13, she feels much better.

“It’s crazy, you really don’t think about the difference it makes when you do quit,” Alexa said.

“I’m so much better. My family is definitely happy, especially since I’m pregnant. I have recommended the Quit Line to a few people already.”

Now she hopes this will set her and her baby up for terrific health and happiness.
